Easy Halloween Graveyard Veggie Tray - featured image

A playful, no-cook Halloween appetizer featuring a creamy ranch cream cheese dip spread like dirt, topped with broccoli ‘trees’, celery, and pretzel ‘tombstones’. Perfect for last-minute parties and kid-friendly snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (dry)
  • 1/4 cup chives, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Pretzel sticks or pretzel rods
  • White chocolate chips or almond bark (for tombstones)
  • Black edible markers or gel pens
  • Broccoli florets, raw
  • Green bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
  • Celery sticks, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Green grapes or snap peas (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese at room temperature for 30 minutes or microwave in 10-second bursts until smooth.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, minced garlic, chives, and cheddar cheese. Mix until completely smooth.
  3. Spread the dip mixture onto a large serving platter to create a thick, mound-like layer resembling dirt.
  4. Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave in 15-second intervals. Dip the top of pretzel sticks into the chocolate and let them dry on parchment paper to create tombstones.
  5. Stick broccoli florets into the dip to resemble trees or bushes. Arrange green pepper strips around the edges for grass and insert celery pieces for height variation.
  6. Once the chocolate on the pretzels is set, write spooky messages with edible markers and stick the pretzels into the dip among the vegetables.
  7. Add final touches with grapes or snap peas and adjust placement for a messy, graveyard look.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Keep pretzel tombstones separate until serving to prevent sogginess. Use room temperature veggies to prevent condensation. The dip can be made up to 2 days in advance.
