fall harvest charcuterie board - featured image

A stress-free, no-cook appetizer spread featuring a balance of creamy cheeses, cured meats, seasonal fruits like figs and pears, nuts, and honey. This board is designed to look impressive and taste delicious with minimal assembly time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel or wedge of Brie or Camembert
  • Sharp Cheddar, cubed or sliced
  • Smoked or regular Gouda, cubed or sliced
  • Goat Cheese Log (herbed or plain)
  • Prosciutto or Salami, folded or rolled
  • Fresh Figs, halved or quartered (or dried figs soaked in warm water)
  • Apples or Pears, sliced thinly
  • Walnuts or Pecans, lightly toasted
  • Dried Cranberries or Apricots
  • Assorted Crackers (water crackers, seeded crackers, brioche chips)
  • Honey (local or clear)
  • Mixed Olives

Instructions

  1. Remove cheeses from the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving to bring to room temperature.
  2. Slice the cheddar and Gouda into cubes or sticks. Cut the Brie into wedges or leave whole. Place cheeses on the board as visual anchors.
  3. Fold prosciutto or salami into loose rosettes or bunch them up. Place meats in empty spaces between cheeses to create height and dimension.
  4. Arrange apple and pear slices in a fan shape or scatter them. Place fresh figs in clusters. Distribute colors evenly across the board.
  5. Pour walnuts or pecans into a small bowl or scatter loosely in gaps. Arrange crackers in stacks or fans, leaving space for easy access.
  6. Place small bowls of olives and honey on the board. Drizzle honey over the Brie or in a pool next to the figs.
  7. Add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for a pop of green. Step back to check for balance and negative space.
  8. Serve at room temperature within 2-3 hours of assembly.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for best flavor. If using dried figs, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes to plump them up. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crackers or apple slices. For a dairy-free version, use cashew cheese alternatives. Avoid overcrowding the board; leave negative space for visual appeal.
