This easy Starbucks copycat pumpkin cream cold foam coffee comes together in about five minutes with simple ingredients. It’s a quick, delicious fall treat that tastes like you put way more effort into it than you actually did.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee or strong brewed coffee, chilled
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée (100% pure, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew and chill your coffee. If using store-bought cold brew, skip this step. If brewing your own, make a strong pot and let it cool completely. You’ll need about 1 cup per serving.
  2. In a small bowl or wide-mouth jar, combine 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a tiny pinch of salt. Stir gently to combine before frothing.
  3. Using a handheld frother, French press, or jar, whip the cream mixture until it doubles in volume and forms soft peaks. This takes about 30-60 seconds with an electric frother. The foam should be thick and pourable, not stiff like whipped cream.
  4. Fill a tall glass about 3/4 full with ice.
  5. Pour the chilled coffee over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top for the cold foam.
  6. Gently spoon the frothed cream mixture over the back of a spoon onto the coffee to help it float. Do not pour it directly in.
  7. Finish with a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice on top.
  8. Serve immediately. The cold foam is best enjoyed within 10-15 minutes of assembling.

Notes

Make sure the cream is very cold before frothing for best results. Do not use pumpkin pie filling; use 100% pure pumpkin purée. The unfrothed cream mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. For a dairy-free version, substitute full-fat coconut cream. For a hot version, skip the ice and pour cold foam over hot coffee.
