These no-bake energy bites are made with simple ingredients like oats, peanut butter, and banana. They come together in just five minutes and are perfect for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, or a quick breakfast on the go.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseed meal
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth with a few small lumps.
  2. Add the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) to the mashed banana and stir until well combined and creamy.
  3. Add the rolled oats, chia seeds (or flaxseed meal), and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly distributed. The mixture should be thick and slightly sticky like soft cookie dough. Adjust with a teaspoon of water or extra oats if needed.
  4. If using, gently fold in the mini chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Using lightly dampened hands, roll tablespoon-sized portions into balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate. You should get about 15-18 bites.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to firm up.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for natural sweetness. If mixture is too sticky, chill for 10-15 minutes before rolling. These keep in the fridge for up to a week and freeze for up to three months. For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or WowButter.
