A festive and easy-to-make holiday appetizer featuring a wreath-shaped pizza topped with pepperoni, mozzarella, and herbs. Perfect for parties and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16-ounce ball or sheet of refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato pizza sauce (smooth, no chunks)
  • 1 to 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 standard package of thin-sliced pepperoni
  • Extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley or basil (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) with the rack in the middle position.
  2. If using a ball of dough, let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, then roll into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface. If using refrigerated sheets, unroll onto parchment paper.
  3. Trace a 3-inch circle in the center of the dough to mark the hole. Roll the outer edge inward to form a ring shape. Pinch any tears.
  4. Transfer the dough ring to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough ring, leaving a small border on the outer edge.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  7. Arrange pepperoni slices in a circle on top of the cheese, overlapping slightly to form a continuous ring.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil and cut into slices.

Notes

Use low-moisture mozzarella for best melting results. Do not overload with sauce to prevent a soggy crust. Let the pizza rest before cutting to help the cheese set. For a gluten-free version, use a high-quality gluten-free dough blend.
