A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring thick-cut pork chops coated in a savory panko and parmesan crust, cooked to perfection in an air fryer for maximum crispiness and juiciness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1-inch thick pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • Avocado oil or olive oil (for spraying or brushing)
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Panko breadcrumbs
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  2. Season both sides of the chops generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika, rubbing spices into the meat.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix the panko breadcrumbs with the grated parmesan cheese.
  4. Lightly spray or brush both sides of the seasoned pork chops with avocado oil.
  5. Press each chop into the panko mixture, coating both sides evenly. Press gently to adhere and shake off excess crumbs.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Place the coated chops in the air fryer basket without overlapping them.
  8. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping the chops halfway through.
  9. Cook until the crust is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  10. Remove chops from the air fryer and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Patting the chops dry is crucial for a crispy crust. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. Pork is safe to eat at 145°F. For leftovers, reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to restore crunch.
