This quick and easy board comes together in under 20 minutes and is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for any Halloween gathering.

Ingredients

  • Aged cheddar, sharp, sliced into cubes or wedges
  • Brie, at room temperature
  • Smoked gouda, sliced thin
  • Goat cheese log, plain or with herbs
  • Prosciutto, thinly sliced and folded into ribbons
  • Salami (Genoa), sliced thin
  • Pepperoni, sliced thin
  • Candy corn, about 1 cup
  • Chocolate-covered pretzels
  • Caramel popcorn
  • Dried cranberries
  • Green grapes, small clusters
  • Apple slices (Granny Smith), tossed in lemon juice
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Crackers, a mix of buttery and whole wheat varieties
  • Baguette slices, toasted lightly
  • Pita chips

Instructions

  1. Start with the cheeses. Place cheese wedges and cubes around the board, spacing them out evenly. Put brie and goat cheese on opposite ends. (Pro tip: take brie out of fridge 30 minutes before starting.)
  2. Add the meats. Fold prosciutto slices into loose ribbons and place next to cheeses. Lay salami and pepperoni slices in overlapping rows or fan them out. Don’t stack too tight.
  3. Place the small bowls. Set ramekins with candy corn, dried cranberries, and any dips. Nestle them into the board. Make the candy corn bowl a focal point.
  4. Fill in with crackers. Arrange crackers in clusters around cheeses and meats. Scatter them for a natural look.
  5. Add the fresh elements. Tuck small grape clusters into gaps. Lay apple slices near cheddar. Use green from grapes and rosemary to break up colors.
  6. Finish with the sweets. Scatter chocolate-covered pretzels and caramel popcorn in remaining empty spaces. Drizzle a few candy corns around the board.
  7. Garnish and serve. Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs here and there. Step back and check for empty patches, fill with extra crackers or popcorn. Serve immediately or within an hour.

Notes

Take cheeses out of fridge 30 minutes before serving for best flavor. Keep candy corn in a separate bowl to avoid stickiness. The board is best served fresh within the first two hours. For leftovers, separate components into individual containers.
